Competitive Gymnastics

We aim to enable each child to fulfil their potential.  No matter what level of ability we want you to enjoy the sport of gymnastics.  We offer children the opportunity to work on all the Olympic apparatus which enable them to develop strength, balance, coordination & flexibility.

Children showing special aptitude or talent may be selected to join one of the Development squads where they will train in small groups with others of similar age and ability, several evenings a week.  This is to enable them to progress more quickly and to achieve advanced skills.

Gymnasts may then progress to the competitive squads. This may lead to selection for County squad.  Squad gymnasts will represent the club in competitions against other clubs in the region.

The Club has a history of success in competition at all levels from County to Junior International level.

International Honours

The club is proud that several of it’s gymnasts have represented the club in National and International competitions. Two of our top boys, Josh Cooper and William Bees, have competed in Geneva, Switzerland and Josh has competed at the Junior British Championships for the past 2 years as well.

Past gymnasts have competed in the Celtic Cup Championships with several having become British and Welsh junior champions.

Training Times

The competition squads train regularly throughout the week and at weekends.  Training hours are set by the coach and may be from 4 - 16+ hours a week.  County or regional squad training is in addition if selected.
